A homeless wanderer, named Solar Flare, proclaims to be a real superhero from the Sun who's been exiled to live on Earth without his superpowers for 189 days. From the personal discovery of why he was sent here (to save this planet from an apocalyptic solar flare), to the array of bizarre characters that misguide him, we follow the lost 'superhero' on what quickly becomes a downward spiral journey into the underbelly of Hollywood...a place he comes to realize is not worth saving.
Once Upon a Superhero was clearly a labor of love and it shows in every frame of the film. It is important to know going into this film that it is not your typical superhero tale. This is like a Marvel or DC film on LSD. I can't recommend this film enough and can not wait to see what the future holds for these super talented filmmakers.
Once Upon a Superhero challenges you, adds something new and fresh to the conversation by honoring the cinema of old. It’s my favorite film of 2018. It’s my favorite film of 2018. A lot of people who see this are probably going to come away disappointed.
